Who remembers the acronym PEDMAS from maths at school?

 

Or possibly BODMAS.

 

For the order operations in a sum.

 

Parenthesis / brackets, Exponentials / orders, Division, Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction.

 

Addition before subtraction.

 

Not the other way round.

 

When we think like PEDMAS, this whole journey gets a lot easier.

 

When we concentrate on all the things that changes can add into our lives………..

 

The feeling better………

 

The increased energy………..

 

The (all else being equal) longer life……….

 

The less aches and pains and / or bloatedness………..

 

The better sex life………..

 

Improved sleep………..

 

Lower stress levels………..

 

Being able to do more things we enjoy………..

 

Keeping up with the kids………..

 

And so on………….

The things that end up being ‘subtracted’ to ‘make room’ for that……….

 

Pales into insignificance.

 

We might end up subtracting an amount of certain foods or drinks.

 

Or an amount of time spent of other activities such as watching TV or checking Facebook.

 

Or a bit of money we might otherwise spend on something that doesn’t really make us happy.

 

But when those ‘additions’ are seen first……….

 

The ‘subtractions’ become ‘not that big a deal’ 🙂
