I’m sure we all know how treasure maps work.

In books at least.

Follow a series of clues and steps until you reach the final destination (I watched Final Destintion 5 the other night. Twas alright).

They never just tell you where the treasure is.

You work one or two clues at a time.

Take that first step, figure out the next as you go and so on.

The human brain doesn’t like that.

We feel the need to have all the steps laid out in our heads before we start.

Steps one to ten already clarified in our minds.

But the problem with that its that that’s really hard to actually do.

A we end up doing nothing.

Paralysis by analysis.

We don’t even follow that first clue.

Like when we want to get fitter or healthier or lose weight (or all of the above).

We feel the need to have the whole journey mapped out in our head.

Understandable.

But very hard.

Things change along the way.

Even if we did think we had all ten steps, they’d probably change as we went.

First step to weight loss

The key is to just follow that first clue.

Take step one. The first step to weight loss.

That might be clicking here to take the next step to find out more about what we do –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting

It might be booking in for first session back if you’re already here but haven’t been in for a little while.

It might be doing an online food shop to get (at least some of) your eating sorted for the rest of the week or the weekend.

Just do something.

Follow ‘a clue’.

The next one will then become apparent.

And, over time, they will lead you to that treasure chest 🙂

Much love,

Jon ‘Roger The Cabin Boy’ Hall and Matt ‘Seaman Staines’ Nicholson

P.S. Despite the fact that I can clearly remember it (Mandela Effect innit), those middle names were in fact not actually characters on the Captain Pugwash cartoon.
