Existing ninjas will notice that we’re big fans of ‘gamifying’ the journey our guys go on.
From scoring points on the app for going certain things, levelling up, earning prizes, etc…….
To the games we finish sessions with…….
Games are fun and people stick to them more.
But, ultimately, for any game to be one you stick to……
It needs to be one you can win at.
The occasional bit of failure is ok.
It can be a learning experience.
But if we’re doing something where you feel you failing a lot……
We won’t stick to it.
It’s the same with our lives and what we try to do in it.
If we feel we’re failing regularly, it’s hard to stick with it.
When we set very hard to achieve goals……..
What is still brilliant can seem like failure.
If we say we are going to eat healthily at every meal for ever, we’re setting ourselves up for failure.
If we’re saying we’re never going to or always going to XYZ, then the first time we don’t, we’ve failed.
We end up with a 0 from 1.
And stop.
Rather than hitting a 26 from 31 and building on that.
Setting goals that we can hit and then building in that success is key.
In the habit section of our app / site, our ninjas create a habit goal that they are 90% confident they can hit (go and revisit this if you are a current ninja who feels the need to change something).

If it’s any less likely than that, we’ll leave it and set another goal.
And maybe build up to the first one when we’re ready.
It may sound like aiming lower.
But, from our experience, it leads to greater success.
Hitting achievable goals, building momentum.
