I mentioned in the blog the other week that it always surprises me when people are, essentially, happier to get worse results but by spending less money.
So they will join a conventional big box gym for a pound or so less per day………
And tell themselves they’re happy with that and the extra body fat and reduced mood and energy that comes with it (compared to being at RISE).
Which, when you think about it, is madness.
We wouldn’t agree to being paid for those worst results.
So to do it to spend slightly less money doesn’t make any sense.
Because ultimately the results are key.
Everything else before that is a consideration but not the most important thing.
It reminds me of the expression in business that “Turnover is vanity, profit is sanity”.
You can be turning over 10 million pounds a year and, if your costs are 10 million and 1 pounds, you’re losing money.
Turning over 100 Grand with costs of 50 Grand is considerably better.
Turning over 10 million with costs of 9 million even better.
It’s the output at the end rather than the variables that lead to it that is key.
And it’s the same with our other results.
There are plenty of things that we can do that on paper look, in some way, to be good choices.
But if they’re not contributing to a body, we like the look and feel of more, then it’s pretty pointless.
There are plenty of ways that we can try and save money with regards to our body, health and fitness, but if it produces a worse body, health and fitness then that’s madness.
All the variables that go into “turnover” and “costs” do, of course, need to be considered.
But it’s the “profit” left at the end that is key (it’s www.myrise.co.uk/apply to find out more about February’s risk free trial of our RISE Together Programme that will help with that)
Much love,
