I was at my Step Daughter’s school summer fete thing a few weeks ago.
Chatting to one of the other Dads I was.
And he was asking questions about what we do at RISE.
Too many questions.
If experience has taught us one thing ……
It’s people who have loads of questions ……
Never do well on the programmes.
A couple, of course, is fine.
People need to know the logistics.
But after working with thousands of people over the years…….
We generally find that if someone has more than three questions……
They’re just looking for a reason it won’t work.
Sounds harsh, sure.
But it’s always the case.
Always!
Those that have started in the past after lots of questions, never do well.
Those that are still asking questions and ‘thinking about it’ 45 minutes after the briefing meeting finishes (and we’re waiting to go home) always drop out within days.
The same questions they were asking are turned into excuses that they can’t do it.
We want people who are keen.
Chomping at the bit.
What they’ve found out about what we do has them raring to go.
And they maybe just need to clarify one or two points.
After asking his questions, the other Dad said “Sell it to me then”.
“It’s not for you to be honest” I replied.
“If what I’ve said so far hasn’t got you raring to go, then it’s not a good fit for you”.
“And I generally find it doesn’t work well for people with lots of questions as they become reasons it won’t work”.
To say he was surprised would be an understatement.
But, what would be the point in him trying it?
He wouldn’t do well.
He’d leave after a couple of months, at most.
He wouldn’t be happy.
It would damage our reputation and brand.
We’re all about results as you know.
What we do, in a nutshell, is:
“Help people who don’t like gyms and slimming clubs transform their lives and bodies whilst having fun with like minded people”.
If that doesn’t have someone interested, then that’s cool.
There’s no point taking it any further.
If you, or a friend, like the sound of that and just want to check a few logistics, then that’s what our monthly find-out-more meeting is for.
It’s next week now.
Check it out at, or send a friend to myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting.
Much love,
Jon ‘Don’t need to ‘sell’ what we do’ Hall and Matt ‘Don’t want to ‘sell’ what we do’ Nicholson
