We’ve mentioned before that we go for brekkie at The Springwood on Tytherington Business Park every Tuesday at 8.30 (feel free to join us BTW).
This Tuesday Emma, one of our ninjas ‘caught me’.
I was helping myself to some granola and fruit.
“Caught me doing what?” I replied.
“Eating cereal – I thought it was banned”.
“We don’t do banned foods” I said.
“Balance is the key”.
I’d never tell someone they “couldn’t” have cereal for breakfast.
I’d just explain what having a meal that is nearly all carbohydrate and very low in healthy fats and proteins will do to them.
How it can elevate their insulin and put them in more of a fat storage mode.
And massively affect how they are likely to eat for the rest of the day.
You see, I’d had a nice plate of bacon and eggs.
Lots of protein and healthy fats.
Needed some carbs me.
Some people still think we recommend low carb.
What’s actually happened is that most people eat mega high carb.
Going to a balanced diet isn’t low carb.
It’s a balanced diet.
Infact, we did a little ‘Pulp Fiction’ inspired video on this the other day.
And, as I mentioned before, we don’t ‘ban’ foods.
We will explain how having certain foods will affect the body.
And that often reduces their appeal.
There are plenty of foods I don’t eat very often.
Too full off stuff that’s good for me you see.
It’s called the ‘add in principle’.
Concentrate in what you’re adding in, not what’s making room for it.
My life and the lives of our ninjas is full of healthy, nutritious AND tasty food.
If stuff that is less good for us has to make room for that, then that’s cool.
Any questions, let us know.
Much love,
