As humans, we like to know the ‘best way’ to do things.
I get that.
Us too.
Us particularly, if anything.
I’ve studied the ‘best ways’ in fitness, exercise and health for nigh on 20 years now.
The thing is though…………
The best way isn’t always the right way for us.
It might be too much time and effort for our already busy and challenging lives.
We might really dislike doing it.
Or find it really boring.
The good news is though…………..
We don’t need the best way.
Imagine you saw someone struggling in the sea.
You weren’t quite sure what the best thing to do was.
How best to help them.
What would you do?
I know what you, hopefully wouldn’t do.
Nothing.
Or even worse, drown them.
Not knowing (or being able to do) the best approach doesn’t mean we do nothing.
Or do the exact opposite.
We do what we can.
Correct course as we go if needed.
You know, and can do, enough to start going in the right direction.
It might not be as fast as you’d ideally like.
But, it’s better than going the opposite way.
Stop putting your own foot on your head and pushing it under.
Either jump on the app and get your next session booked in and chat to the coach when you’re there.
Or, if you’re not already a member, what are you waiting for? –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting.
Much love,
Jon ‘BSc’ Hall and Matt ‘Bronze Swimming certificate’ Nicholson
P.S. Bonus point if you know who, famously(ish), had the above qualification.
