At the end of a conversation on the phone when people end up joining us for our 4 Week Transformation / trial (this thing here that’ll change your life –> www.myrise.co.uk/apply) ………

I mention two things that, from my experience, are the biggest difference makers between those that achieve amazing results on our programme………

And those that don’t!

Firstly, I explain that, whilst what we have there is just an initial four weeks, those that come in thinking it’s a short-term quick fix rarely get great results longer term.

Those that are hopeful that it’s the first step of a bigger, more lasting change, but with no commitment, generally do.

But secondly, and most importantly, the big difference maker is a willingness to stay engaged.

That, whatever’s going on, we reply to messages or reach out when we’re struggling.

That doesn’t mean doing any particular number of Sessions or eating in any particular way, it just means not going completely radio silence.

Hiding in our room like a grumpy teenager.

Fingers in our ears like a spoilt child going now “Na na na na , I can’t hear you”.

And every single person I ever speak to promises to do that, to stay engaged.

Most then do.

Some, sadly, don’t,

Some get to the point where they’re not replying to any messages or not answering any calls from me.

Sometimes, that’s then the end of it.

I get a cancellation through at some point having never heard back from them.

Some reply at some point.

And usually explain that they weren’t ignoring me, they’ve just been busy.

Which I get.

But again, as with most things that I get, it doesn’t mean I won’t question it.

Replying to a text message can take 10 seconds.

I sincerely doubt that, if someone hasn’t replied to me for a month or two, that they haven’t replied to anyone at all.

I doubt that they’ve not responded to any of their spouse’s messages.

Or in the various WhatsApp groups they might be in.

Completely disengaging isn’t a “busyness issue”.

It’s a “mindset around busyness issue”.

It’s a not seeing the value in doing it issue.

If someone saw the value in replying to a message, they’d have found 10 seconds out of the last half a million or so in a month.

All of this is under pinned by that “All or nothing” mindset.

That way of viewing things that, if we can’t do what we consider to be the ideal version, we essentially do nothing at all.

Leave it until we feel we can do that version.

And, if experience has taught me one thing……………

‘All or nothing’ is just nothing long-term.

When we become ok with knowingly suboptimal forward progress………

That’s when we actually make forward progress.

When we respond to messages……..

Still set plans for the week, whatever we’ve got on…….

Just do the one Session if that’s all we’ve got time for………

Make some better food choices than we could have done otherwise……….

When we choose to slow down and speed up as circumstance dictates………

Rather than stopping completely……..

That’s when we actually get there.

Much love,
