We often say that working to a weekly average can be a great way to make progress.

Trying to make every day ‘perfect’ (whatever that might mean) is a laudable approach.

But, invariably, we have less good days.

Often dictated by circumstance – what’s going on in our life that day.

And it’s tempting to ‘write it off’.

With a view to restarting at some point in the future.

Those bad days are kinda unavoidable.

Minimise-able maybe.

But some days won’t be ‘perfect’.

Working to a weekly average though?

Shouldn’t be a problem.

To not trim portions and put a bit more effort into our choices at other times in the week when it’s relatively easy, in order to balance out the other meals / days?

Just a choice, that.

An individual meal or day we can justify as “It was the weekend” or “Someone else was cooking” or a myriad of other ways.

A whole week where we don’t average out?

Just a choice.

Weight Loss Life Hack

I read somewhere the other day a great suggestion of starting that week on a Friday.

You do what you do over the weekend and then you’ve got 5 days to bring that average down.

Start Monday and it might be too late by the time you hit the weekend.

No reason we can’t pull back two days over the next five. How’s that for a weight loss life hack?

And if that ‘pull back’ is really hard?

If we’re practically having to starve ourselves and feel miserable to get to that weekly average?

Maybe next Friday we’ll question ourselves.

“Was drink 7 through to 12 worth it?”

“That pizza I can barely remember took a lot of pulling back. Might be a shout to leave that this weekend”

And so on.

We can still have a great time but just make some tactical adjustments so that undoing that great time isn’t hell?

Much love,
