“Tell me sweet little lies” sang Fleetwood Mac in 1987.
Sweet little lies.
We all tell them.
To ourselves more than anyone else.
We all do it.
Every day.
But often don’t realise it.
A lie, of course, if something that isn’t true.
So every time we’re saying or thinking something that isn’t 100% true, we’re telling ourselves those ‘sweet little lies’.
We do it to protect ourselves.
It’s much easier than the truth most of the time.
But, we never said this would be easy.
Just that it would be worth it!
This  week we’re going to run through some of those ‘sweet little lies’.
And the truth behind them.
We’re as guilty as anyone, before anyone accuses us of ‘preaching’ (another lie people tell themselves).
But realising that is the first step to changing it 🙂

Lie #1
“I don’t have time”
Everyone has 168 hours a week.
10,080 minutes.
Not a second more, not a second less.
Some people run countries in that time.
Some run multiple businesses and still find time for friends, family and their health.
The time is there.
It’s how we chose to spend it.
If you plan ahead, eating healthily takes no longer than eating unhealthily.
Fact!
It’s when you wait till ‘Hungry O’Clock’ that the quickest option is always rubbish.
Our ninjas find they spend less time overall on food prep and eating when they start to plan ahead, batch cook, etc.
Sure, sometimes things come up, so you have to rearrange exercise plans.
It might end up being a home workout or run instead, even.
But genuinely never having time to do any exercise?
If you ever do anything non essential (watching TV, Facebook, games, etc), then you have the time to exercise.
You’re just choosing to spend it elsewhere.
That’s cool if that’s what you want to do.
Tis your life.
We’re not arrogant enough to tell you how you should spend your time (we do all of the above ‘non essentials’).
Just helping you see through the lie that you don’t have the time for something.
Plenty of people have told us over the years “With the time I do have, I’d rather relax and watch TV than workout” (or similar).
That’s cool – who are we to say otherwise?
Alex, my wife, says she would, in an ideal world, like to exercise more often.
But the time she has, she’d rather spend with Izzie, her daughter.
That’s her call 🙂

The time is there.
It’s how you chose to spend it.
Spend it how you like.
But don’t lie to yourself that it’s not there.
This annoy you?
That’s cool – acceptance often starts with annoyance.
We wouldn’t be doing our job if we didn’t push your buttons occasionally 😉
Tis one of the reasons our ninjas get such awesome results 🙂 www.theacademygt.co.uk/briefing-meeting.
