I was at the BodyPower in Birmingham event last Friday.

As always with such things, it’s always useful to get a few new ideas.
And it’s nice to catch up with some FitPro chums.
I was chatting to a guy I’ve known for a long time.
He was asking about the business.
As people usually do when you’re doing well in an industry most struggle in.
He asked where we’d got some of the knowledge we’ve used to help build RISE.
I explained some of the courses, mentoring, etc we’ve done over the years.
Quite a bit of our knowledge on how to market what we’ve done has come from a guy called Paul Mort.
Morty, as most call him, is one of the industry’s top sources of knowledge on the marketing side of what we do.
And he is, by his own admission, a somewhat divisive guy.
We love his stuff, but some are less keen.
He talks a lot about money, which you really should if you’re helping people learn how to make it.
And he freely admits how much he makes, which is a lot by most standards.
And some don’t like that.
My friend said “I like the sound of what he does, but just begrudge paying him so much when he already earns loads”.
“That’s completely irrelevant to me” I responded.
“If the results you get from something are worth more than what it costs, I don’t care how much someone’s making off it.”
We’ve paid Morty a number of thousand pounds over the years for various things.
And all the knowledge we’ve gained has enabled us to get a positive return on investment.
It’s helped us to build and grow a business that continues to provide for our families, whilst most FitPros struggle to make ends meet – a great investment in my mind.
What you get from something is the key.
Not what it costs.
If you’re spending your money on a gym membership and getting no results, it’s definitely not worth it.
No matter how cheap it is.
If something (like what we do –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting to find out more) costs a little more but actually helps you do the things you need to do to get fitter / slimmer / healthier…….
It’s worth every penny if you ask me.
## And don’t believe our less successful ‘competitors’ who like to spread rumours about how much we actually make – after VAT, transactions fees, other taxes, rent, rates, bills, staff costs, marketing, general running costs, etc it’s not what some like to claim it is. And if someone would rather go to someone who isn’t very good, makes very little money and will have left the industry in a year, that’s their call ##
If exercise takes X number of hours per week………..
But it contributes to your living X+ hours longer (years overall)………..
Then it’s worth every second.
It’s an investment.
If healthy eating costs £Y per month more……..
But means you enjoy life more………
It’s money well spent.
You get the message.
Being ‘investment minded’ rather than ‘savings minded’ is a key mindset shift people often take when they start with us.
One that sets them up for that long term success 🙂
Much love,
Jon
