The other week I went to a Man U game with some friends.

Despite the fact that that was my fourth time at Old Trafford in five weeks, I’m not actually a Man U fan.

My two older sons support then so I’m happy to take them and consider myself a “well wisher”.

And, well, people keep inviting me and offering me tickets.

On the way home, some of them wanted to go to the casino at Didsbury.

It’s not really my thing but I went along and didn’t gamble.

I’ve nothing against it, just not really my cup of tea.

But I have got a few bets for you, if you’re interested.

Ones you genuinely can’t lose on.

Win – win.

If you do any of the following and don’t achieve the associated benefit, I’ll give you £100.

– If you don’t exercise regularly and eat well, then do that for a year and I bet that you’ll have more energy and feel better

– Eat in an verified average calorie deficit for a year and I bet that you’ll lose weight

– Spend a minute each day writing down three ‘wins’ for that day and one thing that you’re grateful for and I bet you’ll feel better about your life and the world in general in a year

– Meditate for 5 minutes every day for a year and I bet that you’ll feel calmer on average and your mood and mental health will improve

Win – win.

Do that and get the benefit.

Or £100 if you don’t.

But I’m pretty sure that no one will take this bet.

Because, despite what we might tell ourselves about those things “not working”, I think we know that they would.

We’ve just not done them enough.

So you’ve got three choices now;

1. Take the bet and get the benefits

2. Take the bet and win £100

3. Don’t take the bet and nothing changes
