I listened to an online training the other day.

With a performance strategist and business coach called Will Polston to give him full credit.

There were lots of great ideas that he mentioned.

One particular one I’m going to share here.

He called it the “but flip”.

It’s not quite as cheeky as it sounds.

It’s super simple actually.

Just a reversing of two halves of a sentence that might go around the word “but”.

To very much change how we see them.

Here’s a few examples;

“I want to go running but it’s raining” becomes…….

“It’s raining but I want to go running.”

“I want to go for a workout but I’m tired” becomes……..

“I’m tired but I want to go for a workout.”

“I want to eat better today but I’m feeling a bit flat” becomes……..

“I’m feeling a bit flat today but I want to eat better.”

“I need to get this work done but really don’t feel like it” becomes……..

“I don’t feel like it but I need to get this work done.”

“I want to lose some weight and feel better in myself but Christmas is coming up” becomes………….

“Christmas is coming up but I want to lose some weight and feel better in myself” (we’ll help with that with two weeks for free and a Money Back Guarantee if you take the next step via www.myrise.co.uk/apply)

You get the idea…….

Next time you catch yourself thinking;

[Thing to do] but [Reason to not do it]………

Try the “But flip” and see how that changes how you feel about it.

Much love,

Jon ‘It doesn’t work quite as well when ‘but flip’ is written down, does it?’ Hall
