Those of you that, like me, frequent the corner of Beech Lane and Hibel Road in Macclesfield will have seen this guy.

He’s pacing up and down at all hours.

Taking incomprehensible gibberish.

Mainly to the heavens.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen him talk to any actual people.

But he’s super happy.

Always smiling.

Makes you think that maybe he’s got it right in some ways.

He has nothing as far as I can see, but is always really happy.

Our society as a whole is producing a generation who have more than any time in history.

But are less happy than we’ve ever been on average.

###################################################

I mentioned the other day that Matt and I went on a course ‘On The Wirral’ last weekend.

We we’re talking to some of the other FitPro (Fitness Professional) dudes their.

We explained what we all did.

One of the guys explanation as to what he did was “I make people happy”.

There were a few confused responses from some of the newer guys there.

“People come to me, give me money and I make them happy – it’s an awesome arrangement” he replied.

I thought it was a great definition of what he did.

After all ‘happiness’ is what people come and see us for.

Losing weight, toning up, getting fit, improving sleep, reducing aches and pains and bloatedness and so on are all just really ways to get happier.

We all deserve to be happy.

And, as I’ve mentioned before, I truly believe our happiness comes from within.

And when we accept this and start to work on ourselves rather than the external things we think make us happy, then we can achieve true happiness.

It’s our brain’s interpretation of the signals that it receives that make us happy – not the signals itself.

It’s easier said then done, of course, but over time you can retrain the brain.

Like any muscle it responds to repeated exercise.

Its gets stronger.

Has more endurance.

So, try to be more like that guy – realise that your happiness come from within.

Much love,

P.S. Matt chose the Mr Strong name, not me
