When we’re teenagers, there’s nothing more important than being seen as ‘cool’ is there.
The social acceptance of others is something we seek from a young age.
And it never really stops.
And there’s nothing wrong with that.
It’s human nature to want to mix in packs.
To mingle with like minded people.
The danger in being ‘cool’ though is that……..
It’s often other people’s definition of what’s good.
If we choose to dress a certain way, speak a certain way and do certain things a certain way because we want to……..
Then that’s awesome 🙂
If we do them because it’s someone else’s or societies definition of what’s ‘cool’ or socially acceptable ………
Then we’re not really living in line with what we want.
We’re not ‘congruent’ with what we really believe.
And this is a sure fire way to unhappiness.
So, if you want to have a life and a body that you’re happy with ……
The key is …….
To do what YOU think is right.
What YOU think will get YOU where YOU want to be.
Doesn’t matter if it’s “cool”.
Doesn’t matter if it’s popular.
Doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.
Do what’s right for you 🙂
Much love,
Jon ‘Not remotely interested in being cool’ Hall and Matt ‘Cool your boots’ Nicholson
