It did, of course, snow quite a lot last week.
On Thursday, my wife had to go and work in the office in Manchester.
Which meant I had to sort all four kids in the morning.
Which means dropping the youngest right at the very start of Breakfast Club at 7.45.
So I can get back and get the two older boys to their school in Derbyshire………..
Whilst my stepdaughter gets picked up by a friend.
It works fine
But there’s not much spare time in the equation.
With it having snowed heavily the night before, the youngest and I set off for Breakfast Club earlier than usual.
We were super impressed that when we got to the school, all the roads and sides had already been cleared.
The caretakers must have been there super early to get it all sorted.
It was also my Dad’s birthday that day.
So, after dropping the two older boys off at school, I went to see him for a bit.
I mentioned that I’d been impressed with how well the school had sorted out the snow.
And he replied with “You’re best getting it sorted before anyone gets there. Stop it becoming a bigger job”.
He explained, that when it snowed on the farm, the first thing he would always do is clear anywhere where vehicles would be driving.
If the milk tanker came in and squashed the snow down, it became a much bigger and longer job to clear it.
Which made perfect sense.
Many jobs in life are easier if you do them earlier.
Or at least at the right time.
It’s easy to create more work for ourselves by not doing things at certain times.
Making the decision to eat in calorie maintenance, or small surplus, is so much easier to do than having to lose even more weight further down the line.
Doing some sort of exercise even when you don’t really feel like it is much less effort overall than reduced energy levels and needing to get fit again are.
Making sure our work out kit is packed in the car at the start of the week makes it way more likely will exercise later in the week.
Giving some thought to our meals for the upcoming week and doing an online food order increases the chance that we will eat better overall than if we just wait till Hungry O’Clock before giving it any thought.99999
We can often make things easier by approaching them at the right time (it’s www.myrise.co.uk/apply if you like the sound of an approach that makes it as easy as possible).
Or harder by not.
Much love,
