In yesterday’s blog I mentioned that “us wanting to do this, liking to help people and changing people’s lives…………
Isn’t mutually exclusive to getting paid to do it.
If anything they’re directly correlated.”
I fully appreciate that money is often a divisive topic of conversation.
Brings up a lot of emotion in many cases.
But it’s powerful to remember that, in a business, generating enough revenue to cover costs is THE most important thing.
If we don’t bring enough revenue in each month by helping enough people, the business will cease to exist.
It doesn’t matter our intentions, how good we feel we are, or how much some people benefit from what we do……….
If the business is losing money, it dies.
The single most important thing that I can do for our members is to make sure the business survives.
The King eats first (other gendered monarchs are available).
Not because the King is greedy.
Because the King wants to be able to serve those that rely on him to the best of his ability.
Something that I’m sure we could all do with being reminded of from time to time.
Because it’s easy for our own physical and mental needs to take a back seat to everyone around us.
To not exercise enough and / or eat badly because of the time and energy that we’re putting into those that we care about
Our other half.
The kids.
Family.
Work.
And I get that.
I have all of these things and they are important.
But if energy levels, endurance, mood and / or mental health deteriorate, then we can’t serve those people as well as we might like.
Counterintuitively, by putting ourselves first, everyone around us benefits.
We become better spouses, parents, friends, family members, employees, employers, business owners, etc.
No one will thank us if our health suffers and we work ourselves into an early grave because we “did it for you”.
Like the business thriving is, ultimately, the most important thing for helping those who benefit from it……….
You thriving is the most important thing for those that benefit from you (it’s www.myrise.co.uk/apply for proven help, with a Money Back Guarantee in helping you make those changes that will benefit you and those you care about).
Much love,
