I mentioned in yesterday’s blog that I’ve had a couple of conversations with former members recently where they essentially expressed why they weren’t coming back (for now at least).
Which is absolutely fine – everyone’s entitled to do what they want with their time and money.
But I’m also entitled to help people question some of their thought processes.
They might decide that they’re sticking with their existing thinking.
And that’s okay.
But sometimes they might help them make some changes that benefit them.
In the second conversation, the former member hadn’t been coming in for a while before they cancelled.
And he expressed that “I’d just be kidding myself that I’d go” if he were to re-join.
And maybe that is the case.
But maybe (and from over two decades of doing this I’d say fairly likely) there’s a few other ways that we might be kidding ourselves here.
We might be kidding ourselves that;
“I’m happy as I am”
“I’m not actually that bothered”
“It’s not that bad”
“Everything’s fine”
There’s probably a number of different ways that we might “kid ourselves”.
And they’re worth questioning.
Much love,
Jon ‘LAROI’ Hall
