I’ve talked many times before in these blogs about the more unpleasant emotions.
Such as anxiety.
About how all emotions have their place and aren’t fundamentally “bad”.
About how the way we view different emotions can further effect how much we experience them and now they effect us.
I had another thought earlier.
About what the opposite of anxiety is.
We might think it’s something like “calmness”.
“Peace”.
“Serenity”.
We imagine some sort of Buddhist monk sat in a yoga pose.
But I’m not sure that’s quite right.
Anxiety can be seen as excessive focusing on what you do not want.
And the opposite of that is not focussing on nothing.
It’s focussing on what you do want.
Goals.
Plans.
Things that inspire and motivate you (f these blogs ever inspire and / or motivate you, you’ll get much more of that in person —> www.myrise.co.uk/apply)
The stuff that’s already going well in your life that you want more of.
As always, I know there’s more to it than this.
But “more to it” doesn’t then mean this isn’t relevant.
So, if you’d like to experience less thoughts and feelings related to what you don’t want to happen……..
Maybe the answer isn’t to just essentially hope that goes away…….
But to concentrate and focus more on what you do want to happen.
Much love,
