I saw a great quote the other day.
From Leonardo Da Vinci.
IIRC he was the turtle with the the blue mask 😉
“It is easier to resist at the beginning than at the end.”
Which is true of many of the challenges we face.
Get home after a stressful and challenging day and there’s cake and wine in the fridge?
It’ll probably get eaten / drunk, won’t it?
I know I would.
Be short on time and the easiest options are the coffee shop next to work, the staff canteen or the take out on the way home?
They’ll get done rather than walking further to the supermarket, or picking up ingredients on the way home and cooking a meal from scrath, won’t it?
I know I would.
Not booked a session for after work or told anyone your intention to workout and you’re pushed for time?
You probably won’t make it, will you?
I know I wouldn’t.
The key is to get these things going earlier.
Only (or at least, mainly) get healthy food in.
Only have wine in on the nights you plan to drink (if there’s a bottle in my fridge, I’ll drink it).
Get healthy food in, pre-prep, batch cook, etc when you have the time so it’s ready with you when you’re rushed.
Book in or arrange your workouts, set it in your diary and have your workout gear ready again when you have more time.
Follow Donatello’s mate.
Resists at the beginning.
Rather than trying to at ‘the end’.
Much love,

P.P.S. I hope no one actually believes I think Da Vinci was one of the TNMT 😉
