Do you know what the surest way to forget to do something is?

To just try and remember to do it.

Especially if it’s something that’s not been happening before.

If we’ve previously intended to do something…….

And it hasnt, on average, been happening…….

Then just setting out with an “I know what I need to do, I just need to do it” approach is unlikely to be any different this time.

My coach regularly says “‘fitting it in’ is code for ‘uncommitted as f*ck'”.

Strong language, accurate sentiment.

A more concrete plan…….

A scheduled intention of when constituent steps will be taken…….

Rescheduling when needed…….

Review, follow up and course correcting…….

All make things infinitely more likely to happen than just, essentially, planning on remembering to do it at some point.

Much love,

Jon ‘the 5th of November’ Hall
