Change of subject today.

No mention of the work I lost at Wilmslow Leisure Centre and tomorrow’s “Why it’s so hard to leave food on your plate” blog.

As a society we accept many things.

Lots of stuff that “just is”.

Sayings and maxims that we feel sum things up nicely.

But don’t.

“The truth hurts”

We’ve heard it countless times.

Often from theoretically well meaning FitPros.

Trying to “tell it like it is”.

And I get that.

Part of our job is to help people see through the beliefs they have that, perhaps, might be making this all harder than it has to be.

But, the funny thing is, it’s not the truth that hurts.

It’s the “lies” that preceded it.

Or, at least, the “half truths”.

The stuff that we tell ourselves.

That has foundation.

It isn’t untrue.

But doesn’t have to be the limiting factor that we’ve allowed it to become.

That’s what hurts.

That stops us living the life we’d like.

That creates a certain amount or pain in our current life.

The body we don’t like the look and feel of.

The energy levels that aren’t what we’d like.

The aches and pains, bloatedness, sex drive and more that isn’t where it could be.

The truth actually heals.

It’s, at most, a but like an antiseptic wipe.

It can sting a little.

But it can start (or accelerate) that healing process.

Maybe that medicine we don’t like the taste of.

But we know is good for us.

That will make us feel better.

The truth doesn’t hurt.

It heals.

We just need to see when and where we can allow that to happen.

Much love,

Jon ‘Face’ Hall

P.S. I added that middle name in the other day and genuinely can’t remember why.

P.P.S. 19 days to the next find out more meeting ………. –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting
