Man, when you see a title like that, you just have to open it don’t you?
Which ‘type’ of person am I?
In terms of whether or not someone is doing something, there are four ‘types’ of people.
Whatever that thing may be – getting in shape, learning a new skill, improving something, getting a better job, etc.
They are:
- Don’t have the info they need.
- Have the info. Not prepared to do work.
- Have the info. Prepared to do the work. Over complicating the work.
- Have the info. Doing the work.
###############
In this day and age, there isn’t many cases when someone would be #1.
Most of everything we need to know is available for free on the Internet.
Or at least we can find where to buy it.
The info is there.
###############
#2 is cool if that’s you choice.
It’s ours for plenty of aspects of our lives.
I like the idea of learning an instrument.
I know there’s plenty of instructional videos, courses, etc on line.
And there plenty of local tutors who could teach me.
But the fact that I have done neither shows I’m not really that bothered.
I could spend less time on other stuff and do it, but have chose not to.
If you can’t be bothered to do something, that’s fine – it’s obviously not that big a deal.
#################
#4 is, obviously, good.
Crack on!
#################
Which leaves us with #3.
This is the one that many people do, without realising they are.
Again, we’re far from perfect.
We find ourselves doing it too.
Getting in shape is actually incredibly simple.
Not saying it’s easy, but it couldn’t be much more simple.
Eat a healthy, balanced (one third carbs, one third fat, one third protein) diet of real foods 95%+ of the time.
Training properly 3+ times a weeks.
Drinking plenty of water and not too much of other stuff.
That’s it.
Done!
Simple.
But it’s human nature to complicate it.
Gives us an ‘out’ for not doing it.
When people explain to us why they’ve been struggling to do the above, they’ve often made it much more complicated than it really is.
If you feel it is complicated, this is where you can go from being a #3 to a #4.
If you’re not sure where you’re over-complicating it, ask us.
Or if you haven’t checked us out yet, we’ve got that find-out-more meeting tonight – myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting.
Much love,
