In yesterday’s ’23 things I’ve learned in 23 years in the Fitness Industry’, I said about how there’s more quality information than at any point in history.
There’s also more of the exact opposite.
Confusing, misleading, contradictory and often downright wrong information is rife.
Charlatans with little to no knowledge and experience peddling their tat online.
Outright lying about how they’ve changed their body in order to get you to use their commission code (they call it a ‘discount code’) on pointless rubbish that either won’t do much or could be harmful.
Well meaning friends and family confusing you with an ever-changing list of things you need to do.
I can appreciate it’s hard to know what to do sometimes.
And a confused mind is prone to inaction.
When we’re not sure what to do, we often do nothing.
So here’s a few fundamental basics to always remember;
– You need to be in an average calorie deficit to lose weight
– More fresh unprocessed stuff and less of the opposite is generally a good idea
– A form of exercise that you enjoy doing and are happy to do that has some degree of progressive overload built into it will get you the best results (I do this, but also help with the above and more. Check www.myrise.co.uk/apply for your risk free trial)
Sure, there’s mortar it than that.
But unless those things are underpinning what you do, you’re unlikely to make much forward progress.
Much love,
Jon ‘Sabrina Carpenter’ Hall
