You may or may not know that our members only site and app is our own creation.
We used to ‘rent’ an external booking system.
But as we added more support systems to what we do, it made sense to build something from scratch that does what we want.
And we can tweak, refine and add to as the programme continually improves.
The upside of that is that it all does exactly what we want it to and supports members in the way we feel best for them.
The downside is that it’s a little slower than we might, ideally, like.
——— Although it’s still plenty quick enough. It always amazes me when people occasionally don’t use it “because it’s too slow” when we’re talking a second and half page load versus a half second one ————-
The reason it’s a little slower than it could be is that it’s somewhat ‘patched’ together from various bit of coding, plugins, etc.
A professional programmer doing it all from scratch would make it more efficient, I’m sure.
Sometimes I’ll have to contact a plugin developer to ask a question.
Invariably, when I do this, it asks me to submit various bits of information with the request.
WordPress version, plugin version, PHP version and more.
Along with as detailed a description a possible.
Which is understandable.
If I just said “I can’t get it to work”………..
Or “I think I’m using it properly, but it doesn’t do what I want it to”………
They wouldn’t have much to go on.
The more detail I can provide, the better they can help me.
And it’s the same with our weight loss.
People will often say to us “I don’t know why I’m not losing weight, I eat healthily”.
Or “I’m doing what you recommend and the weight is not coming off”.
Or, maybe, they’ll give an approximate description of a normal day’s food intake.
And there’s very little we can do with that.
At most, recall some common issues we’ve encountered with people in similar situations.
Some general guidelines as to what will work.
Not massively personalised to you.
Record an accurate food diary for three to five days though?
On something like MyFitnessPal, not just pen and paper (or Excel)?
And the answer often jumps out at you.
And, if not, we can help find it.
As with everything, the better the information going in, the better the information coming out.
Vague descriptions can only lead to vague direction.
So, if you’re a member and any less than 100% sure about why you might not be losing weight (as quickly as you’d like), then go check out the Food tab on the app.
There’s the relevant modules so you know what to do, how to track, etc.
And it shows how to share that with us online as request we have a look (or, of course, ask a Coach in a session).
