Got a second blog out of the Spies show I mentioned yesterday.
No spoiler here.
At the end, the remaining contestants are informed that they have passed the ‘spy training course’.
And one of the former spies running the programme tells them……..
“You always had the skills. You just didn’t know it”
Which I thought was great.
And it’s the case for the vast majority of people who achieve great success with us.
They come in thinking they need ‘more’.
More knowledge, more information, more willpower, more motivation, more skills.
As French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupery once said……..
“Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add. But when there is nothing left to take away”
You don’t need more and more stuff to add into your already busy lives.
We need to chip away at what’s holding back the skills you already have.
The self limiting beliefs.
The habits that don’t serve you well.
All the extra ‘stuff’ going on in your life which adds little value……..
But takes time, energy and mental space.
You already know how to eat better.
How to drink more water and less alcohol and caffeine.
How to turn up for a workout.
Sure, there’s adjustments that can be made to make it all more effective and easier.
But to suggest people don’t know enough to take them in the right direction is quite the insult to their intelligence.
If you’re still struggling, the skills are there already.
You / we just need to work out what’s stopping you using them 🙂
