Whilst I’m talking about expressions that perhaps aren’t quite as valid as they first seem (yesterday’s blog about never comparing yourself to anyone)…….

I’ve got another one for you.

“Winners never quit and quitters never win”.

It’s not true, is it?

Are you telling me that there’s anyone in this world who’s been successful in some part of their life that hasn’t, at some point, done something then stopped doing it?

Are you telling me there’s anyone, full stop, who’s never done something and then stopped doing it?

Everyone quits.

It’s perfectly normal.

If anything what “winners” do is quit the right things.

And quit them fast.

Realising when something’s not working and changing that.

Rather than plugging away at something that isn’t working.

Maybe falling for the “sunk cost” fallacy where we try and make it work to pull back the time, effort and money that’s gone into it when we’d probably be better knocking it on the head.

It’s ok to decide that we’re going to stop doing something.

It’s ok to course correct when things aren’t working.

It’s more than ok, it’s a prerequisite for success.

What, at most, people who achieve things do is minimise the stopping and starting of the things that do achieve results.

Life gets in the way sometimes for everyone.

But the more we can minimise any stopping and starting…….

And probably just replace it with a ‘slowing down and speeding up a circumstances dictates’……..

For those better food choices, exercise and other lifestyle changes………

The more we will achieve those things are important to us.

Winners do quit.

It’s fine to quit

Everyone quits

Quitting is an important part of succeeding.

It’s being selective and intelligent with what we quit and how much we let other things derail the things that we want to continue with that dictates our success.

Much love,

Jon ‘Chicken Dinner’ Hall

P.S. Many of our members report that this is the first approach they’ve continued with for any real period of time and the first time they’ve gotten lasting results (and enjoyed the process). It’s www.myrise.co.uk/apply if you want some of that!
