———————-

I took my step daughter to Energi trampoline park at Handforth the other day.

We’ve not been to that one for a while as we’ve usually picked Jump Heaven as is has the Ninja Warrior section as well.

But Energi have has a bit of a refurb so we thought we’d try it again.

We had a lovely, if rather tiring time.

———— We’ll come back to that tomorrow ———–

On the way back we tried to ring ‘mum’ to see if we needed to pick up any bits for lunch.

The phone went straight to voicemail.

Alex (my wife) is good at a lot of things.

But charging her phone is not one of them.

She often forgets to charge it over night so is starting the day with, let’s say, 30% and is fighting an uphill battle.

Always very defensive of her mum, Izzie pointed out that the phone is getting a bit old (work one, due an upgrade soon) and takes longer to charge and loses it’s charge quicker than it used to.

Which is also true.

And it’s true of us too, isn’t it?

As we get older, we lose our charge a little quicker.

And we take longer to re-charge.

Stuff that would have barely slowed us down aged 20, definitely does so years or decades later.

Our batteries are also going to drain faster and require more charging than they did back then!

An inescapable fact of life.

But……………..

If we’re not charging them at all (or enough)…………….

There’s only so much complaining we can do about that.

If we’re not getting enough sleep…………

Enough water………..

Enough (but not too much) quality nourishment………….

Enough exercise…………..

And so on………….

Then, that’s fine.

Our choice.

Our lives, we can do what we want with them.

But…………….

More and more that is what’s required to have the ‘batteries’ we desire.

To have the energy levels, enthusiasm, stamina, recovery and mood we’d like to.

We don’t have to recharge our batteries.

But when we see the sleep, food, hydration and exercise as a way to keep our depleting batteries topped up in the here and now…………..

Rather than just a way to “weigh less in a few months”…………… (check myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting if you’d like to do both of these. The find out more meeting is TOMORROW night!!!!)

That can be waaayyyy more empowering and motivating!

Much love,
