Every now and again we look in the mirror and decide we’ve had enough of our current haircut.
And fancy a different one.
So, what do we do?
Book in for a cut (or just turn up).
And have it done.
That’s it.
Easy.
Simple.
Nothing else to it.
No emotion attached.
What About Changing Your Body?
But we usually feel very differently when we look in the mirror and decide we want to change our body.
Emotions run wild.
Feelings of disappointment, annoyance, disgust, dread, frustration and more (delete or add as appropriate).
The whole process of changing our body can be very emotional.
Similar feelings plus concerns over being judged, discomfort, embarrassment and more (delete or add as appropriate).
Understandable, of course.
Can We Treat Changing Our Bodies like Changing Our Haircut?
But what if we got rid of all that?
What if we treated changing our bodies like we treated changing our haircuts?
Easier said than done, of course.
Everything is.
But doesn’t mean we can’t question things and move, at least, some way in that direction.
Take the emotion out of the result.
As much as you can.
And, I reckon, changing your body will get easier!
Much love,
Jon ‘Grade 3’ Hall and Matt ‘Same haircut every three weeks’ Nicholson
