Every few days you’ll see the same comment somewhere on Facebook when someone posts about something fun they’ve done.

Happens on some of my posts.

And we see it on others people’s.

“Somebody has too much time on their hands.”

Or “I wish I had the time to do that.”

“I’d love to be able to afford that.”

“It’s alright for some!”

Now, of course there are situations where these things are expensive and time consuming and a lot of people would be unable to do them.

But nearly always, with these comments, neither is the case.

I sometime knock up amusing (to me anyway) videos.

They probably take 5-10 minutes at most.

Get the odd “too much spare time” comment.

From people I know spend 15+ hours a week watching reality TV, soaps, etc.

If someone genuinely has every single one of their 10,080 minutes a week packed out with ‘serious stuff’ then I would be surprised.

I, and others, will post about a day out with the kids and get a money related comment from someone who drives a much more expensive car or spends considerably more on their clothes than I or the poster do / does.

A post about healthy food or investing in health gets a “I wish I could afford it” reply from someone who spends £100+ a week on boozing, eating out, etc.

As always, we’ll never preach.

People can do what the hell they like with their own time and money.

Just pointing out that in a large proportion of times the time / money comments aren’t really valid.

It’s that person justifying to themselves why the aren’t doing XYZ.

If that person is you, this blog might give you the gentle nudge to realise that and maybe re-prioritise your time and money.

Or you might decide your happy as you are but feel less need to comment on other people’s choices.

If you’re the person that gets the comments, just ignore them.

You spend your time and money how you see fit.

Tis your life my friend 🙂

Much love,
