Another thing I spoke to several people about on Monday is the thing that we often feel is ‘missing’ in our attempts to improve health / fitness / body shape.

Motivation.

A lack of motivation is one of the most common reasons people give me for not getting down for Sessions, eating better, etc.

And I get that.

It’s what we’ve been told we need by other people, media, etc for many years.

And we’ve largely been led to believe that we get motivated by what is essentially hype.

Something ‘gees us up’.

We read a meme or watch a video that gets us in the mood.

Or we just kind of wait.

Hoping that something will come along that makes us feel more motivated.

I’ll have you consider though that motivation comes not from hype……….

But from evidence.

When we amass evidence that something is working……….

It’s producing the desired results……….

It’s getting us what we want………..

We feel much more enthusiastic about continuing to do it.

When we’re exercising regularly and eating well and feeling and looking better…………

We’re much more likely to feel motivated to exercise regularly and eat well.

Sometimes we have to ‘get started’ whilst unmotivated.

Remembering that motivation is often and ‘after emotion’.

That is will come from evidence, not hype.

Much love,

Jon ‘Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley’ Hall
