Another change that I’ve noticed over the last 23 years……… Is a, shall we say, ‘condensing’ of reasons for not doing something (starting a programme like this particularly but pretty much anything). I used to get a wider variety of reasons. Nowadays it’s nearly always some version of “too busy”. Maybe “I’ve got too much on at the moment”. Or “It’s not a good time”. And I get that we’re busy. Arguably, on average, we’re busier than ever. But I’d also dispute that, in the vast majority of situations, that we’re as busy as we think. I’ve never had anyone accurately track their usage of their time using the systems shown at www.myrise.co.uk/time……… Who’s found that all of the 10,080 and in the week are currently being assigned to important and / or essential things. A quick glimpse eat our screen time on our phones and TV watching stats show that. Nothing wrong with watching TV or going on your phone, of course. But I’ve never know anyone to answer “How important is losing this weight and increasing your energy and mood to you, on a scale of 1-10” with a number lower than “How important is watching TV and going on Social Media to you, on a scale of 1-10”. What often happens is we create a somewhat exaggerated version of how much time what we need to do will take……….. And we’re not 100% accurate with how much time we could re-assingn from elsewhere. We think we need to do hours of exercise and cooking from scratch. When we could just do a couple of 45 minute Sessions at RISE www.myrise.co.uk/apply) and eat appropriate portion sizes of what we’re already eating for improved results. We could stop some of our snacks for less than zero use of time. Again, I get that we’re busy. But I also get that tracking with the info at www.myrise.co.uk/time will probably show us that we’re not quite as busy as we think………. And that we can reassign enough time to something that’s important to us. Much love, Jon ‘Bee’ Hall
