I’ve talked countless times about the concept of “falling off the wagon”.

About how there is no wagon or different ways to see what’s going on and / or what to do differently.

Here’s another consideration.

The problem was not that we “fell off the wagon”…….

It’s that we hadn’t planned to get back on it.

If falling off the wagon is a thing (it’s not, but I know that saying that won’t automatically change what everyone says)………..

Then it’s worth realising what that wagon is.

It’s a plan.

When we’re on the wagon we were following the plan.

When we fell off it, we stop following the plan.

And any good plan has contingencies.

Ways to get it back on track.

All the best plans fully expect progress not to be a linear straight line.

They consider how things might go off plan and how we might get them back on track.

So, it’s a given that, if we perceive it that way, we’ll fall off the wagon.

Standard.

Everyone does it.

It’s no different for us.

It’s going to happen.

All we need is for the plan to include how to get back on the wagon.

What does that look like?

What do we do after a heavy weekend?

Or after unexpectedly inhaling a tub of Ben & Jerry’s on the sofa (other calorie dense food stuffs are available)?

If you’re going to consider that you’re on a wagon, let’s just assume that you’re going to fall off it at some point.

And that let’s have a plan for getting back on (the first step of that really should be going here –> www.myrise.co.uk/apply) .

Much love,
