When I have a phone call with someone who’s considering joining RISE, I have a number of questions that I normally ask.
Around their goals, exercise history and what they would need from me to make sure we got them where they wanted to be.
One question is how important those goals are to them on a scale of 1 to 10.
1 being couldn’t care less.
10 being incredibly important.
In the vast majority of cases, people give a number between 8 and 10.
The occasional 7 and I don’t think I’ve ever had anything lower than that.
Maybe stop and give a score now to the changes that you’d like to make?
And then it’s a powerful question to ask, when we’re not doing the things that will lead to that………
What are you currently doing that’s less important than that?
Because I would wager that, for every single one of us, (myself included) we are spending time, energy and / or money each week on something that we would consider less important.
How important is spending the amount of time we do watching TV to us on a scale of 1 to 10?
How important is the amount of time we spend on social media to us on a scale of 1 to 10?
How important is the amount of money we spend on various non-essentials to us on a scale of 1 to 10?
If we literally wrote down everything we spent time and money on in the week, I would wager there was an amount there that could be reassigned that are currently spending on things that are less important to us than our health and fitness goals.
I get that it’s not necessarily that easy to do (it’ll be much easier if you jump in here though, promise –> www.myrise.co.uk/apply)
But it’s food for thought, no?
Much love,
