When I speak with someone who’s considering joining RISE, I have a number of questions that I normally ask.

Either on a call or over messages.

Around their goals, exercise history and what support they would want from me.

One question is how important those goals are to them on a scale of 1 to 10.

1 being couldn’t care less.

10 being incredibly important.

In the vast majority of cases, people give a number between 8 and 10.

The occasional 7 and I don’t think I’ve ever had anything lower than that.

What score would you give the change you’d most like to make right now?

And when we’re not doing the things likely to make that change happen, there’s a powerful question to ask.

“What are you currently doing that’s less important than that?”

Because I’d wager every single one of us, myself included, spends time, energy and/or money each week on something we’d consider less important.

How important to us is spending the amount of time we do watching TV or on social media on a scale of 1 to 10?

How important to us is the amount of money we spend on various non-essentials?

None of these things are bad or need to be stopped, but we could possibly change how much time or money we’re giving them.

If we wrote down everything we spent our time and money on for a week, I’m confident we’d find some we could reassign from things that matter less to us.

Maybe the question isn’t how important it is. It’s whether we’re treating it like it is.

Much love,

P.S. If you gave it an 8, 9 or 10, maybe it’s worth doing something that reflects that –> www.myrise.co.uk/apply
