Picture the scene.

You wake up bleary eyed.

Trying to piece back together what happened last night.

As you survey the scene it starts to come slowly back to you.

It was a party.

Your party.

It got a little out of hand.

The house is a tip.

Empty cans, bottles, glasses and more are everywhere.

Food, general rubbish, all sorts all over the place.

I’m sure you can imagine / recall such a situation.

What do you do?

You start to tidy up.

To make amends.

To bring things back to where they were.

You don’t feel like it at all.

But you know it needs to be done.

writing off training

Or, do you decide to ‘write it off’.

It’s been pretty bad so far, so may as well make it worse.

Tip the bins over.

Throw guacamole over the TV.

Pour the nearly empty glasses, bottles and cans on the floor.

Or, maybe, drink them all?

No?

I wouldn’t have thought so.

So why do we do the equivalent with our bodies?

Writing off training

Make a little bit of a mess…………

Then decide to just ‘write it off’ and make it even worse.

We get that sometimes we make that bit of a mess.

We all do (check the briefing meeting at RISE in Macclesfield if you’re fed up of approaches which pretty much ban everything you enjoy).

But, in the grand scheme of things, there’s only so much damage that can do.

It’s when we then use that as a reason to carry on doing damage that it really adds up. We begin writing off training.

If we wake up the next morning and, even though we don’t feel like it, start to ‘tidy up’, to pull the average of the week back in the right direction………..

To ‘make amends’ with the coming food and drink choices………..

Then the results will come with time 🙂

Much love,

Jon ‘P-A-R-T-Why?’ Hall and Matt ‘Because I gotta’ Nicholson
