When I ask people why they feel they haven’t been getting the results they desire (whether with previous things they’ve done or, I’ll admit it, whilst at RISE), there’s two things they’ll mention;
Time.
And motivation.
I’ve covered both extensively in these blogs.
But I’ve got another way of considering the motivation situation for you.
On a scale of 1 to 10 (where 1 is in a coma and 10 is absolutely bursting with energy at all times)……….
What would you say your energy levels are like on an average day?
Go on, say a number – at least in your head.
Now I’d wager that if you said 8 or more, then motivation was less of an issue for you?
I might be wrong.
But I don’t think, on average, I will be.
If you said less than 8, I’ve got a question for you;
If we were able to increase your energy levels by two or more points……….
What impact do you think that would have on your motivation?
You might say “nothing at all”.
But I’m willing to wager that most people would say some version of “significant”.
So maybe the question doesn’t need to be “what can we do to increase your motivation?”……..
It needs to be “what can we do to increase your energy levels?”
And the answers to that question are probably pretty easy to find.
Maybe not easy to do.
But easier to find than the answers to the motivation question.
I’d wager that to increase your energy levels you would want to do some combination of the following.
Increase;
– Exercise (we, obviously, help with this. But we’ll help with the rest too. And make it as fun as possible! Take that next step by trying us out via our 4 Week Transformation Programme at www.myrise.co.uk/apply)
– Sleep
– Hydration
– Quality of food
And to decrease;
– Caffeine
– Alcohol
– Doomscrolling social media
– Excessive news consumption
So let’s change the question from “How do I increase my motivation?” to “How do I increase my energy levels?”
Find your answer.
And let’s do that.
Much love,
