💡💡💡

You know the feeling.

You “know” you “should” do something.

But you really don’t feel like it.

“I can’t be ar$ed” you might say.

CBA.

I know I have / do.

We get it.

But, we know, from our experience and from helping thousands of others, that we can question that.

As I’m sure you’ll know, it won’t just be in a “try harder” way.

Berating you for “not putting in enough effort” is where a lot of our industry ‘is at’.

Doesn’t help though, does it?

Just makes it worse in most cases.

Completely negates how hard you’re trying across the board.

Busy and challenging lives.

Just because you’re struggling in one area doesn’t make you “lazy”.

No.

Instead what we’re going to do is look at it from a different angle.

Two angles in fact.

Both other words / phrases that CBA can stand for.

One over the next few days.

The other one on Friday.

I’m splitting the first one up as I want you to remember it.

Even if all you do is remember what it stands for in this case.

So the next time you’re thinking that you “CBA”……….

It pops into your mind.

If you forget this straight away, it’ll be pointless.

Further understanding of anything is a waste of time if we don’t even remember the concept.

If I were to see you in the pub in a few months (other places we can’t currently go to are available) and I were to give you a big hug (I might just – I’ve only hugged my immediate family for a year) and say “Great to see you – what does CBA stand for”………….

I’d want you to be able to tell me.

So, are you sitting comfortably?

Then let’s begin (#ListenWithMother).

CBA can be the three parts of what affects our motivation levels.

Competence.

Belonging.

Accountability.

That’s it for today.

Just remember those three words.

Competence.

Belonging.

Accountability.

Repeat them in your head.

Competence.

Belonging.

Accountability.

One more time to make sure it sticks…………

Competence.

Belonging.

Accountability.

Much love,

Jon ‘Competence. Belonging. Accountability’ Hall
