Hope you guys who made it enjoyed the webinar.

It was ’10 years younger in 10 weeks’.

Bit of exaggeration of course, but it was all about changing stuff that makes you look older.

###############################

So, it’s obviously January.

Lots of people looking to make some changes in the New Year.

And we’re getting lots of requests for information on what we do.

To be honest we’ve never really been all about the ‘what’ of what we do.

We’re more about the’why’ of what we believe.

People come and work with us not just for the insane transformations, but because they believe the same as we do.

And they like being with like minded people.

About a year ago we wrote an article on what we believe – The Principle of RISE.

It’s been a while though and a lot has changed.

So thought it would be worth recapping.

The principles that we built RISE on are:

1. Make a difference

2. Have fun

3. Improve every day

Make a difference

It’s quite hard to really describe what we ‘do’ at RISE.

Because there’s nothing else like it.

We’ve made it a category of one.

Because the other categories don’t work.

We’ve had gyms since 1825.

Slimming Clubs since 1961.

And the world has never been fatter or less healthy.

95% of people report they didn’t achieve lasting success with the ‘standard menu of options’.

So, we thought – it’s time to try something new.

We don’t pay any attention to what anybody else in our field is doing.

Because it’s not working.

We’ve tried all sorts over the last few years.

Some has worked great and has been kept in the constantly evolving L.E.A.N. System.

Other things didn’t quite happen, so we’ve left them.

At least for now.

But, we know, month by month we’re making more and more of difference.

More and more lives are being transformed.

More and more are following our lead.

They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

So, it’s nice to be ‘flattered’ so much by the others in our field in Buxton, Macc and, more and more, further afield.

And, due to continued success of our 1:1 and small group programmes (which provide our actual income) we’ve been able to not take a single penny out of the GTP (Group Transformation Programme) and re-invest everything it has ever generated (other than paying off some set up costs) into improving that and providing careers for 5 other coaches.

Have fun

The ‘standard menu of options’ is deathly boring IMHO.

I’ve never heard anyone say “I had a blast at the gym / slimming club the other day”.

It’s important for us to enjoy what we do.

And it’s important to us that those that do it with us enjoy it to.

The sessions, emails, podcasts, videos, etc are all designed to be effective AND fun.

And our famous social events are a big part of this.

You can see the this year’s social planner atΒ myrise.co.uk/members/socials.

Get them in your diaries – be awesome to see you there.

Improve every day

Long term readers will know we’ve been on loads of courses recently.

We want to continually progress and improve what we can deliver at RISE.

And give our ninjas ever more awesome transformations.

I was amused to see some of the guys who like to be ‘inspired by us’ accuse us on Facebook the other day of “wasting all our members money on pointless courses”.

For those that just want as cheap as possible and aren’t bothered that what they’re getting hasn’t changed or improved in years (or decades), then that’s cool – there are plenty of options out there.

But that’s not our cup of tea.

Since this time last year, we’ve:

  • Doubled the length of the assessments we do and added much more personalised info as why people are really storing fat and developed this into the LEAN Mapping system.
  • Massively extended the members only section of the site (the ‘Add your own recipes’ bit in the Nutrition section is going down particularly well)
  • Developed our own cookbook (our next book is a little behind schedule BTW, but should be out soonish)
  • Moved to daily emails (the single biggest factor in helping people change their habits and achieve great results according to the feedback we get)
  • Added in more video and introduce podcasting
  • Moved from in person seminars which people struggled to attend to online webinars which are working so much better and reaching so many more people
  • Weekly nutrition coaching availability at Buxton (6.15pm on Fridays and 10.45am on a Saturday)
  • The YourCoach system at Buxton which gives every ninja a point of contact and someone their to support them on their journey
  • Added more sessions variety – different sessions everyday of the week
  • Added in more structure and progression throughout the phase
  • Employed a full time administrator (starting today) to make sure this side of the business is run as smoothly as possible and free us up time to concentrate on delivering great transformations
Some things haven’t worked out.
And we’ve had to make changes accordingly.
We’ve changed the number and frequency of some sessions.
And are, as always open to requests for more of anything where there is demand.
We plan to continue to grow and develop both clubs and deliver ever better service.
As both clubs continue to grow we’ll add extra sessions, increase equipment and continue to refurbish and upgrade everything we offer.
Some things will work and others won’t.
But we’ll be improving every day πŸ™‚
################################
So, in summary, making a difference, having fun and improving every day is what we believe.
If you do too, then happy days – we’re a good fit for each other πŸ™‚
################################
Tomorrow we’re going to go through the total results we’ve got for everyone we’ve worked with over the last year.
And we’ve got an ambitious new challenge to completely transform Macclesfield (and elsewhere).
Keep your eyes peeled πŸ™‚
Much love,
Jon ‘Getting nervous about tomorrow’s Stand Up’ Hall and Matt ‘Worried what Jon’s going to say’ Nicholson
