It’s a fairly regular conversation that I have with people where they tell me that they just need to be “more consistent”.
And when I asked them what they mean by that, the definition they give is usually not consistency.
It’s perfection.
They plan to do several workouts per week and to eat well, whatever that looks like to them, all the time.
No snacking, drinking, sugar, carbs, processed food, etc.
To get the recommended amount of sleep every night.
And there’s nothing wrong with any of those plans.
But, again, that’s looking for perfection not consistency.
And we don’t need perfection.
We just need to be consistent enough at the things that will take us in the direction that we want to go in.
You can’t be perfectly consistent and you can’t be consistently perfect.
And really it’s not even consistency we need.
One workout per month would be consistent.
What we actually need is persistence.
A willingness to keep going even when it gets a bit hard.
And, over the next few days, I will cover a few different considerations that we could make to help us with that (or you could jump in at www.myrise.co.uk/apply and get even more support for even more likely results).
Much love,
