Earlier this year some of my longer term injuries were playing up quite badly.

So while I generally carried on exercising, I didn’t do any running for a good couple of months.

It was cold and wet too which was probably a contributing factor.

Through a combination of feeling a bit better more recently and realising that Born Survivor is approaching fast……..

I’ve started doing a bit of running again these last few weeks.

Now I’ve never been the biggest fan of running, I must admit.

But those first few runs back were particularly miserable.

Do you know why?

Because I wasn’t very good.

It’s hard to enjoy things if we feel that we’re rubbish at them.

At least compared to where we have been or feel we should be.

I’ve done enough runs over the last few weeks to get back to how I generally feel about running.

Not my favourite, but something I can tolerate.

And it’s often the case that we don’t like doing something when we’re feel we’re bad at it.

That can apply to any exercise (which, I promise you’ll find easier to get into and more enjoyable at www.myrise.co.uk/apply)

Different ways of food prep, cooking and / or eating.

Maybe certain tasks at work.

Speaking in front of others.

Asking people out.

Anything really.

We’re always less inclined to do it if we think and feel that we’re not very good at it.

Butt, as always, there’s only one way to get better.

To get past that ‘sucky’ first part.

To do it.

Much love,

Jon ‘Fun’ Hall
