People sometimes ask us who our “competition” is.
There’s a few ways I could answer that.
“No one because we’re the best” would be one.
——— Cough ** Two times National Fitness Awards Top 6 ** cough ———-
Or I could point our that we’re very different to everyone else.
Or I could mention some of the other facilities in the area who are vaguely similar to what we do – independently owned facilities, run by qualified Personal Trainers who run some sort of group based programme.
There is quite a few of them now (although they keep closing as they don’t have enough members).
But, in reality, it’s very rare that anyone ever leaves us to go to any of them.
Sometimes, sure.
But not often.
People sometimes leave to go to a normal gym.
But not usually straight away.
Sadly, more often than not, when most people stop with us, they stop completely.
At least for a while.
We didn’t lose them to “the competition”.
We lost them to their busy work schedule.
We lost them to their challenging family situation.
We lost them to their mobile phone.
We lost them to Netflix.
We lost them to the countless other things that call for their attention all day every day.
When people are doing 2 or more Session per week with us and staying engaged, they rarely leave.
When they’re not doing much, it can easily seem another expense to save.
We get that people are busy.
More now than at any point in history.
We get that both from living lives like that ourselves………….
And from years of helping other with the same things.
But we also get that, in the majority of occasions, what we might perceive as a “lack of time” or “being too busy”………..
Is, at the very least, contributed to by a lack of energy and enthusiasm for and engagement with what we do.
And, let’s be honest, distraction by lots of enjoyable, but none essential stuff.
There’s 10,080 minutes in a week.
Can anyone really ever be so busy with completely essential activities that there isn’t 30 seconds to Touch Base (which the stats show is the biggest difference maker between getting results on our programme or not)?
Or two minutes to set a Plan for the week?
Or to do a 10 minute workout?
————- If you’re telling yourself “That’s not worth doing”, I’ll (hopefully) dissuade you of that tomorrow ————–
We get it.
We really do.
We know you have a lot on.
But I’d be willing to bet that a percentage of what we all do could be replaced (if only in part) with something else that would benefit us more.
Not just long term, but right now.
More energy, better mood, body feeling a bit nicer and more right now!
——– Check www.myrise.co.uk/apply (or www.myrise.co.uk/join) if you’re ready to make some relatively easy, but worthwhile changes ———-
A few minutes less on social media, tele, etc.
A few minutes more on some combination of;
– Setting a plan for the week
– Putting some thought into what we’re going to be eating
– Tracking our food
– Exercising
– Getting a bit more sleep
Our competition isn’t other places you could join.
It’s other things that can take your time, energy, enthusiasm and focus.
Much love,
Jon ‘Dog and bone’ Hall
