Have you ever said (or heard anyone else say) “I have depression?”
Or, as I referenced yesterday, “I have anxiety”.
I’m sure we’ve all said “Yes”.
Have you ever said (or heard anyone else say) “I have happiness”?
Or “I have excitement”?
No?
Me neither.
Why is it the the only emotions we ever describe in a more permanent way are the less pleasant ones (note: they’re not “bad”, all emotions have their place)?
Ultimaltey, all emotions are transisent.
Temporary states.
Sure, we may have some more or less than other people and / or more or less than we’d like.
But the clue’s in the name.
Emotion.
Energy in motion,
When we accept that all emotions are feelings that we experience for a finite period of time, it becomes a different conversation.
It feels less like some sort of albatross around our necks.
And we can start to look at how we can experience them more or less often (cough **** this will help –> www.myrise.co.uk/apply **** cough)
Not saying that’s always easy.
But surely it’s better than just deciding that the less pleasant emotions are permanent states and the more pleasant ones are temporary?
Much love,
