What would think of if someone said that were “plotting”?
They’re up to no good, yeah?
Planning something naughty, probably.
Why is that though?
When someone writes the plot for a book, they are just laying out the story as they’d like it to go.
Planning.
Thinking it all through.
Having the desired final result in mind and working backwards to put everything in place to lead towards that.
They don’t usually just start writing with no idea where it’s going.
Not successful authors anyway, I wouldn’t think.
That approach would, inevitably, lead to not particularly great results.
I lost of wasted time.
Maybe some ‘starting again’.
And it’s the same with most areas of life.
If we were to ‘plot’ our day, it would likely lead to better results.
Or our day.
Our month.
Or even our year
“Our job’s a joke, we’re broke, our love life’s D.O.A” (Friends innit).
A bit of tactical ‘plotting’ pretty much always leads to better results.
Doesn’t need to take long.
Just a bit of thought ahead of time.
Maybe looking at the coming week at a convenient time and putting a few things in place so the food choices that will take us in the direction we desire are the easiest ones to make come Hungry O Clock.
Online food shop, batch cook, a provisional plan for some meals or something like that?
It can actually save time (and, probably, energy and money).
20 minutes on a Sunday night (other convenient times are available) could save 10 minutes and £2 every lunch time when compared to a trip to the staff canteen / coffee shop / express supermarket / garage.
Booking our sessions in advance and, at worst, having to reschedule them, means they’re more likely to happen than just “planning to fit them in at some point”.
And so on.
Plotting isn’t naughty.
It’s real good 🙂
Much love,
Jon ‘I’ll be there for you, like I’ve been there before’ Hall
P.S. If you’re wanting someone who’s there for you, rather than just someone who’ll only ever contact you when you cancel your DD, then that’s what we do. September is usually a great time to get cracking for many and the find out more meeting for the September programme is next Tuesday –> myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting.
