Last week we had someone drop out of our ’20lbs in 8 weeks challenge’ immediately after signing up at the Briefing Meeting (BTW – you can find out more about and book in for the next Briefing Meeting at myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting)
He’d decided that losing 20lbs in 8 weeks was ‘dangerous’ and ‘bad for you’.
Because it exceeds the governments recommendation of “1 to 2lbs a week”.
He felt any changes you had to make to lose 2.5lbs a week would be bad for the body.
Now, this gentleman was approximately 7 or 8 stone overweight.
What he had done to himself to get to that point will be an awful lot worse for his health than losing weight at 2.5lbs per week.
No judging – we’re not like that.
But it is our job to point out when people’s thought processes and beliefs are holding them back.
We know, from experience, that if someone has over 20lbs of body fat to lose, eating a healthy balanced diet (a real one) and doing the type of training we do three or more times a week will cause them to lose 20lbs in 8 weeks.
Works EVERY time if done properly.
No fat burners or miracle pills.
No strange foods.
No food replacement.
Nothing that isn’t maintainable.
Nothing remotely extreme.
So, to lose weight at a slower rate, you would have to replace some of that food with less healthy stuff.
Or exercise less often.
Ultimately, you’d have to decide to be less healthy to lose less than the 20lbs in 8 weeks.
Why would you do that?
We don’t believe in or condone anything that’s bad for the body or is a short term solution.
But, we’re all for making maintainable progress as quick as possible.
Why would you slow it down?
Much love,
