Get on the waiting list?

myrise.co.uk/waiting-list

We’re now only a number of weeks away from being back in the club (date TBC)!

Places will will go before that actually happens.

So, don’t leave this till after “gyms are open”.

It’ll be too late by then.

Before lockdown, our programme sold out in advance for 63 months in a row and we don’t see this being any different 🙂

——————————

I’m sure if you’ve been reading these blogs for a while, you’ll be aware I like ye-olde food – money analogies.

About how thinking of the way we eat more like the way we ‘manage our budget’ can be an effective way to get the results we desire and take a lot of the emotion out of the process.

Imagine you wanted to pay off your overdraft.

You might not need to “imagine” – I know I don’t 😉

How would you do that?

Would you just check what the extent of your overdraft was once per month?

Or even weekly or daily?

Without looking at your spending?

Probably not.

You’d be more likely to look at the ‘outgoings’.

And, when that was sorted, the ‘outcome’ would kinda happen automatically.

If you had £100 spare per week, but had been spending £120 and had been getting £80 a month further into your overdraft…………

You’d probably concentrate on, at least, getting those outgoings down to the £100 mark.

To stop it getting any worse.

And, where possible, down to the £80 to pay it off over time.

And whilst it might somewhat limit our fun, it would be fairly straight forward wouldn’t it?

Stop spending on certain, non-essential things.

A few tactical swaps for cheaper alternatives.

Adjust the ‘lead indicators’ and the ‘lag indicators’ take care of themselves.

Doesn’t need to be all that much more complicated than that does it?

But we usually do the opposite with our weight.

Our only ‘measure’ is our weight.

Whether that be taken daily, weekly or monthly.

The ‘outcome’.

The ‘lag indicator’ rather than the ‘lead indicator’

If we accurately track our food at the time…………..

Probably on a app like MyFitnessPal……………

And use the knowledge and accountability it gives us to stop ‘spending’ on some things……………..

And some tactical swaps for others………………

Then when we check that ‘overdraft’, it being better than last time is a foregone conclusion 🙂

Much love,
