Working in the Fitness Industry, not every one has an overly high opinion of what you do.
When there’s minimal requirements to do our job and a large variation in quality of delivery, people often assume what we do is what you could call the more ‘entry level’ positions in our industry.
Over the years I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve been referred to as a ‘Fitness Instructor’.
There nothing wrong with being a Fitness Instructor of course.
But I’d like to think what we do is a higher level than that.
And, I suppose, we do ‘instruct’ people on how to do exercises.
But not all that much actually.
I’d say the only time we really ‘instruct’ is the first 5 minutes of Group Transformation Programme session where we’d explain and demo the exercises.
The rest of the session involved more what I would call ‘coaching conversations’.
Two way dialogue with a view to helping the person get more out of either that session or things outside of it (or both).

And delivering sessions is only a small part of what I personally do.
Designing, developing and delivering systems that help support people across their entire journey…………..
Creating and maintaining a fun, intimidation free atmosphere that people want to come to…………..
And, ultimately, giving people what they need to actually get the results they desire.
Of which showing someone exercises is only a small part.
Much love,
