Have you ever been telling your friend about your new plans for living a healthier lifestyle………….
The changes you’re going to make…………
What the plan is………….
And they, dismissively, respond with something like “You could get hit by a bus tomorrow. Why not enjoy life?”
Now firstly, you’ve got to question the quality of a plan where it only works out through accidental death.
They are, essentially, saying “I know I could be storing up health issues for the future. But, fingers crossed, I’ll be squashed to death by several tonnes of metal before I get there”.
And secondly, it’s probably worth questioning the “enjoy life” bit.
In that definition “enjoy life” is probably some variation on consuming too many calories for your needs.
Which, lovely as that can be, you have to question someone’s life choices if that’s their only source of enjoyment.
And, perhaps, they also mean “enjoy life” by not exercising.
From our experience (and the hundreds we’ve worked with) though…………….
Most people start to enjoy life MORE when they look after their mind and body.
The increased energy, mental focus, mood, physical ability and more that comes with it allows the living of a life that create MORE enjoyment than just eating along ever could.
And, if we’re smart, we can still enjoy that eating just as much.
Just a few tactical swaps and some portion control in places.
And, we all know, the extra food that sends us into a surplus isn’t the most enjoyable bit – it’s the first bits, isn’t it?
Much love,
