You’ll know if you’ve read these blogs for any period of time that, by far the most common reason I receive for people for looking after their health and fitness (whether that means joining us or just in general) is that they’re too busy.
And, as I always say, I get this.
I get there’s, as a population, we are busier than we ever have been.
More and more demands for our time.
I get this from working with people who are busy for over two decades.
And I get this from being very busy myself (a busy business, four children across three different schools and colleges over 20 miles apart and a very busy wife).
But also get the one of the most powerful mindset shifts that we can make is………..
It’s even more important to look after our energy and stamina when we’re busy.
If we weren’t very busy we could probably get away with being in low energy and mood.
When we are very busy it’s very important to us and everyone around us, that that’s not the case.
There will be changes to our eating that we can make that requires zero additional time or effort (or maybe even save it).
And I would wager that every single one of us could look at our screen times on our phones and our Netflix (other streaming services are available) usage and find enough minutes to do some exercise.
And I’ve heard many many times over the years that the extra productivity and effectiveness created by increased energy and stamina and mood more than compensates for this time.
So we end up ‘up on the deal’.
Maybe we are too busy to train like an Olympic athlete and eat like a nutritionist.
But that doesn’t mean that we couldn’t make some tactical changes that would help with our busyness rather than hindering it.
