One method of making some changes to the way we eat is to look at planning and / or prepping our meals.
It’s a method many in the Fitness Industry push.
Whether that’s spending Sunday night tupperwareing up 21 meals.
Or just putting a bit of thought into what we’re going to eat that week and making some plans that will allow us to eat better than we might otherwise have done.
To me, it’s one of a number of methods we might employ.
Works great for some.
Others aren’t so keen.
I don’t meal prep personally.
But we do generally have a plan for most of the meals of the week.
The most common reason that people give for not meal prepping or planning is that they “don’t have time”.
Which, on the face of it, sounds valid.
But isn’t actually true.
Because in every conversation I’ve ever had (in 21 years) around this, it’s become clear that that person could spend less time on their food across the course of the week.
If we’re popping out to a staff canteen, coffee shop or supermarket to get lunch……..
Or swinging by the shop on the way home to pick up tea……..
Or getting take out………
That takes more time overall than deciding on five lunches and evening meals and doing an online food shop.
Just because there are meals that we could plan and prep that would take longer doesn’t mean there aren’t ones that would take less time.
Just because a multi-ingredient recipe from scratch might take an hour………
That doesn’t mean that there isn’t something we could order in seconds and microwave in minutes.
I would personally say that, with four children and multiple activities for us all in the day and week, a busy business to run and a wife who works long hours………..
I’m too busy to NOT plan our meals.
Now, of course, we don’t have to plan or prep.
If we’re happy with the way that we source and prep our food……..
And the results that brings……..
Then that’s cool.
But if we’re not happy with the results, it’s bringing………
Then it’s worth remembering that it’s just not true that we’re too busy to change that.
Much love,

P.S. Our programme works with people to find the method that works best for them. Whilst also questioning their thoughts around methods, their lifestyle, etc. If you agree that this will get you better results than just being given another meal plan and renting access to some exercise equipment (and it always does), then take the next step here –> www.myrise.co.uk/apply
